A bold new brand identity for our hometown

We’ve developed and launched a bold new brand identity for our hometown, Mansfield, to raise its profile and inspire pride in its history.

Linney was appointed by Mansfield District Council to work alongside local leaders, businesses and community organisations to create a refreshed brand and narrative to help boost Mansfield’s reputation and relevance.

“Mansfield’s got plenty to be proud of,” said Linney Create’s account director. “It’s an historic town with a rich industrial heritage, a wealth of thriving local businesses and a central location at the heart of the UK. In 2022, more than 425 startups remained in business after 12 months of trading – the highest figure in the country. There’s major investment in infrastructure and transport links that will keep us connected to growing markets and talented people.

“The goal with this place brand is to get people excited about Mansfield’s bright future and tell our town’s story in a way that will resonate with local people and potential investors. Linney was born and bred here, and our location has played a key role in our success, so it’s been a real privilege to give back to our community through such rewarding work.”

The finished brand is the result of months of hard work from a dedicated team of strategists, creatives, writers, UX designers, and more. As well as the brand’s visual identity, we created a range of digital and printed assets, including a website showcasing Mansfield’s brilliant people and places and inviting locals to become brand ambassadors.
