Food for thought
Chartwells, part of Compass Group UK, provides meals to schools, colleges, academies and independent institutions across the country. Variety and nutrition are key considerations for Chartwells food professionals, meaning menu changes are frequent. Updating menus can be time-consuming – and there’s the additional challenge of how to inform parents and children of the newest menu choices. With all this in mind, Chartwells sought a slick, quick self-service system for their chefs and teams to use.
Bespoke screens
Using our automated artwork tool, MyDesign, we created an intuitive content management and templating system that Chartwells teams can use to tailor menus and posters with print-on-demand functionality. This gives our client the ability to operate with flexibility at scale and on a local level. It allows teams to order and print the POS and menu items they need, reducing time spent and increasing efficiency of process.
The results
- 33% reduction in labour
- 50% reduction of points in process (from eight to four)
- 25% saving in print costs
- 10-15% uptake in meals ordered (27,000 more meals)
