BDR Thermea is one of the world’s leading providers of heating and hot-water solutions across a range of brands familiar to both residential and commercial markets.

Government legislation is changing significantly across the heating and energy sectors. With that, comes the need for an evolved business strategy and re-focused business objectives. BDR Thermea needed to reaffirm its strategic pillars and positioning to ensure they were striving towards a common goal together as one team.

Combatting COVID-19 event challenges

Linney is a trusted multi-marketing channel service provider for BDR Thermea and its accompanying sub-brands. Therefore when the challenge of creating an engaging and immersive online event arose, BDR Thermea naturally chose us to come up with the creative ideas and execution on how their refreshed strategy could be delivered.

In previous years, BDR Thermea hosted strategy events in person, presenting content to a room of people. However, the changing government guidance and restrictions of COVID-19 meant that a new approach was needed. BDR Thermea chose to stage a virtual event – communicating their strategic priorities to over 200 people via a Microsoft Teams meeting.

With just six weeks from brief to going live, we at Linney set to work on designing leaflets, brochures, postcards and all other event materials. From producing print and digital collateral, using our in-house capabilities, to scripting for the live event itself, the project stretched across many of our teams – including Film and Animation, Creative Direction, our Graphic Design and Artwork Studio and Print and Procurement.

Producing the BDR live event

We used our broadcast-quality, on-site film studio and flexible set, as well as the wide offering of skills that our Film and Animation team has at their disposal, to produce the event. The result?

We delivered an engaging two-hour virtual event, comprising of five speakers and seven short films. To support the online slides, we followed up with a gift pack that contained a sustainably sourced aluminium bottle, a thank you note and printed information to cascade to colleagues. The packs were delivered to the home addresses of  200+ attendees.

This impactful strategy refresh resulted in a fruitful Q&A session to finish – covering the latest business updates, as well as providing learnings for BDR Thermea staff on the projects covered.

BDR Thermea Group colleagues in the Netherlands were so pleased with the animation we created of their employee’s importance to their warranty process, that they have asked for numerous versions which cover an array of different languages to go out to their markets across the world.
