Creating a bespoke presentation software to wow potential customers

To enable its B2B sales teams to put their best foot forward and create meaningful conversations, Experian approached Linney to create an interactive presentation tool. Its aim was to showcase the features and benefits of Experian’s credit rating and reporting services in initial sales meetings.

The solution was developed by forging a close collaboration with Experian’s sales and marketing team, and by combining the skills of our account direction, project management, UX design and digital development teams.

The presentation tool proposal

We kicked off with a stakeholder workshop, which quickly identified all the ways the Experian team would typically use the tool within a real-world, high-pressure sales context.

Our team set to work creating a prototype that helped create compelling storytelling through helpful animations and easy interactions. This software functionality was a big upgrade compared to Experian’s previous solution, which had been limited to simple slide presentations.

Providing a flexible presentation tool to meet their sales needs

We proposed an interactive tool using JavaScript for desktop and mobile formats that would help engage the user, allowing stakeholders to travel to any slide in the presentation, including links within slides. The real benefit to using JavaScript is its ability to handle multiple languages and screen aspect ratios.

To make it a truly global solution, multi-language translation was included to support the Experian sales teams across the world. This would not have been possible on other design-centric platforms, such as Microsoft PowerPoint, or as a filmed animation where there isn’t any functionality for multiple languages and screen aspect ratios.

Careful consideration was also given to the content. Working closely with Experian, we realised it wasn’t a simple case of repurposing existing content, but fundamentally reimagining the features and benefits of each given service using UX design.
