Our Climate Pledge: becoming a sustainable business
Discover our Net Zero Carbon commitment
We’ve recently committed to The Climate Pledge, as a response to the United Nations race to net zero.
This is a global initiative co-founded by Amazon and Global Optimism to reach net zero carbon by 2040. More than 200 companies are already committed to taking urgent action on climate change as part of The Climate Pledge. Put simply, Net Zero Carbon is all about eliminating carbon from business operations by implementing real business changes and innovation, and then neutralising any unavoidable carbon emissions through credible offsetting to achieve net zero by 2040.
To some, 2040 may seem like the distant future. But in the next two decades, we’re collectively taking on the greatest challenge that humanity has ever faced. The threats of climate change, resource depletion and pollution mean our good deeds and sustainable practices have to be more than just hot air.
The Climate Pledge is recognised globally as a credible commitment for companies to reach Net Zero Carbon by the year 2040 – a full decade before the deadline set by the Paris Agreement on climate change. The three commitments are:
- Measure and report greenhouse gas emissions on a regular basis.
- Implement decarbonisation strategies in line with the Paris Agreement through real business changes and innovations, including efficiency improvements, renewable energy, materials reductions, and other carbon emission elimination strategies.
- Neutralise any remaining emissions with additional, quantifiable, real, permanent, and socially beneficial offsets to achieve net-zero annual carbon emissions by 2040.

By 2025, we’re committed to achieving:
- A 30% reduction in CO2 emissions – or 6,000 tonnes
- A 20% reduction in electricity usage – or 8.7 million kWh
- A 30% reduction in overall waste through increased recycling
