PayPal’s Tap Dogs charity film

Linney film showcases the part PayPal played in an innovative animal charity project.

An imaginative animal charity is taking a fresh approach to fundraising by drafting in some four-legged friends to lend a paw.

The Blue Cross is one of Britain’s oldest animal welfare charities. It rehomes unwanted and rescued animals and provides veterinary care for people who can’t afford private care. Now it’s recruited a pack of PayPal Here card reader-carrying canines to encourage people to make a donation.

PayPal Here’s the mobile debit, credit and contactless card reader that lets merchants take payment wherever they do business. The Blue Cross designed special dog coats with pockets for the card reader. Members of the public are invited to make a contactless payment by ‘patting and tapping’ the dog.

The Blue Cross fundraisers and their Tap Dog team were at the world’s largest dog show, Crufts, in March to offer pet health and wellbeing guidance and take donations using the PayPal Here card reader coats.

PayPal commissioned Linney to make a film sharing the story about the charity’s Tap Dog scheme.
